Sick of being Sick!!

I have been home from work the past couple days with a respiratory flu.  I think I picked it up from the personal care home where my Mom lives.  Bit of a bummer.  I have been flat out in bed since Friday and am not too pleased with about it.  I know when I am really sick because I don't even want to cook! And I love cooking!  Talk about being wiped out!

I don't remember getting sick very often when I was young and if I did, it only lasted about three days and was gone.  Now it seems to hang around for weeks and torment me.  I also have been noticing that I am not the only one whose colds/flu hang around a lot longer.  Are any of you noticing this as well?

I have decided that I am never going to be sick again this year.  Now, if only my body will co-operate I will be off to the races...

So that is my "poor, poor pitiful me" rant, it feels better just to have gotten my complaint out there.  Sorry I am unloading on all of you - I promise my next post will be very positive, or more positive at least.

  1. Feel better. Having a cold/flu just wipes you out. Get your rest.

My littlest one is home with a bad cold today. It's the second one she's had this month. It's that time of year.

  2. Oh, poor poor pitiful you indeed. Sorry to hear you're not feeling well, Kathy. It's such a bummer. At least you'll be feeling better by Christmas!!!

I agree with you about the being sick longer thing. I thought it was just because I'm getting older. Last year I was sick for two months. Got one cold (at Christmas as a matter of fact) and it knocked me on my butt. I was just starting to feel a bit better a month later when I caught another bug. Ugh.
Either the bugs are getting stronger or we're just getting feeble. Either way, it is just sucky. GET WELL SOON!

Oh, and I've been meaning to mention this to you. That coffee 'sweater' you made me was the BEST. I used it at work every single day for months and months. Then, one day, it disappeared. Either somebody stole it or the cleaners threw it out. I looked all over the office for it and asked everyone, and was very sad about its untimely demise. I would like to buy one from you Kathy because I can't live without it. How much, lady? Coffee isn't the same without it!

I was just thinking... do you have a bunch of these on hand? Let me know. They would make outstanding little gifts for the girls at work. I should have emailed this, I know, but drop me a line, OK? When you're feeling up to it!

  3. Oh you poor thing! You do seem to get slammed by long-lasting bugs! Hopefully this one is almost done and it's the last one!

I don't usually get sick, but the old chassis is slowly falling apart...

On a bright note, I love the photo in your header!

  4. No fun being sick, but it happens sometimes. Take care.

  5. Thanks, Barb, I am on the upswing again. Did you recognize the barn? It is the one at Tokaryk Lake.

Thanks, Laurita, I hope your little one is feeling better. I always feel so bad for the them when they get sick, the mom in me just wants them to get better.

Cathy, Hopefully you are not right and that those bugs are getting stronger and we, as a species are getting weaker - it would mean the eventual decline of us. Then again, maybe cropping some of us off may not be a bad thing - didn't the world population just cross the seven billion mark? Or trillion?
I'm glad you like your coffee "sweater."

You are so right, Lee. It is just life.
